New Hires: Fairfield County Town Swears In 2 New Police Officers
Two new police officers will soon begin serving the community in one Fairfield County town, including one with ties to Northern Westchester County. The two new hires were sworn into the New Canaan Police Department on Wednesday, Dec. 21 at 10:30 a.m., according to an announcement from the department. Wilton Welcomes Two New Police Officers Who Grew Up In Neighboring Local Towns
Two new police officers, both from neighboring towns in Fairfield County, were sworn into the Wilton Police Department on Tuesday, Sept. 8. The new recruits will attend the Connecticut Police Academy in Meriden both virtually and in-person over the next 26 weeks. Officer Navin Nair of New Canaan, a recent graduate of Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont with a bachelor's degree in psychology, was an artillery cannon crew member of the National Guard since 2017. New Officers Join Stamford Police Department
The Stamford Police Department recently welcomed the addition of three police officer recruits to the town’s "finest." The trio is comprised of Wilson Matos, Jamie Torres and Matthew Pompa, who graduated from the Police Academy in September. The new officers were part of the 361st Training Session at the Police Officer Standards and Training Council at the Connecticut Police Academy in Meriden. Roche, who started his career as a patrol officer in Ridgefield in 1980, announced his retirement from the force, effective as of Friday, Aug. 24. Afghanistan War Vet Carlos Olivares Joins Ridgefield Police Force
A war veteran who served in Afghanistan has officially joined the ranks of Ridgefield’s finest, being sworn in as the local police department’s latest member. This week, the Ridgefield Police Department welcomed new Officer Carlos Olivares, who was sworn in during a ceremony at police headquarters, he is now set to train at the Connecticut Police Academy for more than six months before returning to protect residents in Ridgefield.
