Suspicious Item Causes Bomb Scare At Connecticut College A suspicious item along a walkway at Connecticut College caused a bomb scare and students to shelter in place. The incident took place in New London County around 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 1, at the college located on Crozireer Drive in New London. New London police and fire personnel responded to the college after receiving information regarding a "suspicious" item on the walking path between the student center and the Plex, said Capt. As for the rest of New England: Vermont has had 34 cases at 8 schools, New Hampshire has had 68 cases at 6 schools, Maine has had 44 cases at 10 schools, and Rhode Island has had 62 cases at 8 schools, according to a New York Times database. Topping the nationwide study is Yale University in New Haven, which ranked 14th overall. The Ivy League institution's average annual tuition is $47,600. Wesleyan University in Middletown ranked 33rd nationwide with an annual tuition of $49,274. Trinity College in Hartford was ranked 63rd. It's annual average tuition is $50,776.
