Metro-North Fare Hikes Set To Take Effect Some Metro-North riders will see their trips becoming more expensive as an announced MTA toll and fare increase takes effect on Sunday. A near 4 percent fare hike was approved by MTA officials earlier this year, though it won’t impact rides west of the Hudson on the Pascack Valley and Port Jervis lines.
