19: This CT University Requiring Students Be Vaccinated Before Fall
With the recent expansion of eligibility for the COVID-19 vaccine in Connecticut and around the country, at least one university in the state is requiring all students to receive a vaccine prior to returning to campus for the fall semester. Wesleyan University in Middletown announced this week that the decision was made to allow for all to return to "residential life and the close-knit, stimulating campus environment so meaningful to all of us." 19: Mass Drive-Thru Vaccination Site Opens In Fairfield County
One of the state's first mass drive-thru vaccination sites has opened in Fairfield County. Operated by Community Health Center, the site is located at Lord & Taylor parking lot at 110 High Ridge Road in Stamford. Although the site is a drive-thru, you still need an appointment to receive a shot. To register, those eligible can call 211, or 877-918-2224. Or use the VAMS online portal operated by the state Department of Health to make an appointment online. 19: These CT Testing Sites Don't Require An Appointment
For those needing a COVID-19 test, Community Health Center is offering sites statewide that do not require an appointment. In addition to not needing an appointment state officials said you do not have to be exhibiting symptoms to receive the tests. They especially suggest a test if you live in a town that is experiencing an outbreak, even if you don't have symptoms. The tests are free and run from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
