Massive Fairfield County Internet Outage: Duo Accused Of Cutting Fiber Optic Lines Two people have been charged with cutting fiber optic lines which resulted in more than 40,000 customers with lost internet, TV, and phone service in Fairfield County. The incident took place in Norwalk on Friday, March 24 around 7:15 a.m. Norwalk officers responded to a report of damage to Optimum cable lines on Broad Street. Optimum personnel on the scene reported over 2000 fiber optic lines had been cut and as a result, over 40,000 customers had lost service, said Norwalk Deputy Police Chief Terrence Blake. The Norwalk Fire Department was advised of a reported pull station alarm with a car fire located at 289 Main Ave. at around 11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, Todd M. Four Men Caught With $4.5K In Stolen Items, Norwalk Police Say Four men were busted by Norwalk police after officers with the Narc Team noticed a vehicle making erratic maneuvers through traffic. The incident took place around 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 17 when the officers noticed a gold Infiniti in the area of Main Avenue and Broad Street. Team members watched as the vehicle, with four people inside, pulled into a gas station and made note of the vehicle, said Sgt.
