Police and rescue crews were called to an area near southbound Exit 38 around 6:20 on Sunday, Dec. 23. A man pulled his car into the breakdown lane and was refilling it with gas when a silver SUV, possibly a GMC Acadia or Chevrolet Traverse, crashed into him and sped away, authorities said.
Paramedics took the man to Bridgeport Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities did not release any information on the injured man.
