FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Players from the Fairfield Giants began practicing this week for the upcoming season. The teams and cheerleaders practice each night at Sullivan Field on Old Dam Road.
There are six divisions of football -- including flag football -- with players ranging in age from 7 to 14. In the past four years, the Giants have won four state championships, three regional titles and its Pee Wee team finished second in the nation in 2007. The team plays in the Southern Connecticut Pop Warner League.
