Fairfield Preps Connor Rog is scheduled to compete Friday in the 2-mile run at the New Balance Indoor Nationals at The Armory in New York. Rog is coming off a sensational meet at last weeks New England Championships, where he and Fairfield Wardes Harry Warnick ran home with medals.
Rog will compete in the 3,200 at the New Balance meet, which features 30 of the top runners in the country. Rog has run the distance in 9:25.28, the 40th fastest time in the nation, according to ESPNrise.com, which tracks the top track and field performances in the country.
At last weeks New England meet at the Reggie Lewis Center, Rog took third in the 2-mile run in 9:23.84, followed by Warnick in 9:27.51. Westons Stephen Vento was seventh in 9:34.64. In the 1-mile run, Warnick finished fifth in 4:23.4. Watch videos of the 2-mile and 1-mile races here.Warnick will not compete at the New Balance meet as he prepares for the outdoor track season.
