At 38, McAdoo has never served as head coach at any level of football, according to newsday.com, which added he is the second youngest head coach in the NFL.
McAdoo, who was officially welcomed to the team during a press conference Friday, said while he may not have served as a head coach before, he has been preparing for the moment throughout his "entire professional life," according to newsday.com.
His tenure at Fairfield University was brief: McAdoo was offensive line and tight ends coach for the 2002 season, in what would be the final season for the Stags. After that season, he was named assistant head coach, but the football program was disbanded.
