Norwalk, Stamford Players Help Sacred Heart Go 2-0

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Norwalk’s Evan Kelley and Stamford’s Chris Evans scored 11 points apiece as Sacred Heart University’s basketball team improved to 2-0 Tuesday with a 74-63 win over Stony Brook.

Kelley and Evans, both sophomores, were in the starting lineup for the Pioneers. Kelley had four assists and three steals in 25 minutes and was 8-for-11 from the foul line. Evans shot 5-for-7 from the field in 23 minutes of playing time and had two assists and one steal. He also committed four turnovers. Stan Dulaire and Justin Swidowski scored 14 apiece for the Pioneers.

Sacred Heart visist Rutgers on Thursday in the first of four games in the Cancun Challenge. The first two games are stateside. The Pioneers head to Cancun, Mexico, for a pair of games next week.
