GREENWICH, Conn - Greenwich High girls volleyball improved its record to 9-2 with a 3-0 win over Fairfield Ludlowe. That puts them a half game behind Staples (9-1) in the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference's west division.
"We played a very clean match with few unforced errors and our serving was strong," Coach Steve Latham said.
The game scores were: 25-12, 25-10, 25-18. Greenwich's statistical highlights were:
- Mirei Kato: 12 kills, 11 points
- Xanthi Katsigiannis: 16 points, 23 assists, 4 digs
- Milena Skwarek: 14 points, 7 kills
- Ebba Mark, 8 kills
For Ludlowe:
- Emily Nelson: 4 kills, 13 digs
- Claire Wiggin: 5 digs
- Jamie Quinn: 5 kills, 3 blocks
It is a very busy week in FCIAC volleyball. Greenwich comes back to play Stamford on Wednesday and then Ridgefield on Friday. Ludlowe, now at 5-5, travels crosstown to Fairfield Warde on Wednesday and then hosts Westhill on Friday.
