Fairfield Wildcats Youth Football Roundup

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Fairfield Wildcats eighth grade team scored first and never looked back as they marched to an 18-6 win over Weston on Sunday.

In the third quarter, Fairfield’s Cam Pickering forced a pass interference call against Weston setting up the Wildcats with great field position. Timmy Jacobi capitalized on this and scored the final Wildcat touchdown taking the ball in on a 15 yard carry.

The eighth grade Wildcats will next take on Wilton at home Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Ludlowe High School.

Sixth Grade

The sixth grade Wildcats dropped a tough final home game to Weston on Saturday, falling 27-13.

The offensive line of Jason Conklin, Tristam Breheny, Joe Faletta, Ryan Janz, Massimo Perillo and Liam Hawley opened some nice holes, allowing the team to rush for more than 100 yards on the day.

The Wildcat touchdowns came on a pass from QB Joey Gulbin to Conner O'Neill on the team's opening drive and a 20-yard run from tailback Evan Rose on the game's final play.

Fourth Grade Black

Fairfield Black was stunned on the very first play by Ridgefield Black as the Tigers scored on a 40-yard run.

The Wildcats' Jack Reiling scored after connecting with Harrison Keith for a 45-yard pass to the end zone. Andre Mead finished the scoring with a pick-six and Patrick Covino scored on the conversion to close the game and give Fairfield a 27-14 victory.

Wildcats next face New Canaan Black on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Ludlowe.
