Jake Hios and John Blumenthal recovered a Westport fumble that gave the Wildcats the ball on the Westport 15 yard line. Capitalizing on the field position, Jack Curtis, protected by a strong offensive line led by Josh Evans and Chris Nielsen, barreled his way into the end zone for a 6–0 early lead.
Jack Curtis had a 70-yard touchdown run in the second quarter and Timmy Jacobi ran for the team's third and final score of the day.
Keeping Westport’s end zone abandoned for the duration was the Wildcats’ defense led by Joey Turner, Clay Zachery, Cam Pickering, Wil Parisi, Justin Keith and Alexey Linsenmeyer.
The Wildcats will try to extend their undefeated streak this Sunday when they take on Ridgefield at Tiger Hollow Stadium at Ridgefield High School. Kickoff is at noon.
7th grade (blue) falls at Ridgefield The Wildcats seventh-grade blue team traveled to Tiger Hollow Field in Ridgefield where a fumble and an interception in the second quarter gave Ridgefield two scores.
The Fairfield offense was led by the running of Jaden Sneed and Kevin Quinn. PJ Egan had another strong game at quarterback rushing for 50 yards and completing six passes for more than 100 yards.
Fairfield Blue will next play at home against New Canaan Red at Fairfield Warde.
6th grade falls at Westport
The sixth-grade Wildcats fell 21-6 on the road to Westport North Sunday. Having trouble finding an offensive groove in the game, the Wildcats had a flash of brilliance on their lone score, as quarterback Joey Gulbin showed off his strong arm on a deep out that wide receiver Alex Farkas caught in stride for a 70-yard score.
The Wildcats team will play its first home game 10:30 a.m. Sunday against Ridgefield Black at Warde.
5th grade takes down Darien
The fifth-grade Wildcats improved to 2-1 with an 8-0 win Saturday at Darien. Having only let up only six points all season, Fairfield's dominant defense came to play. Will Gallagher's first quarter fumble recovery started things off for Fairfield. RJ Ihlefeld's caused a fourth quarter fumble, which was recovered by Jack Gremse.
The offensive play of the game was a 54 yard hitch-and-go pass between quarterback Andrew Conklin and receiver Jack Morrison for the game's only touchdown.
Fairfield will next play Saturday at Ludlowe High School.
4th grade gets win against Westport
Despite Westport starting the game with a touchdown, the Wildcats, led by Karl Schmidt, used Andre Mead and Denholm Feldman to move the ball and close the gap to 7-6 at the half.
The Wildcats started the second half with the ball and scored to go ahead.
Westport scored one more time, but that immediately was followed by a Wildcats touchdown to give Fairfield an 18-13 win.
