FAIRFIELD, Conn. Fairfield Wardes boys track team split a tri-meet against Harding and Norwalk on Tuesday. The Mustangs beat Harding handily, but fell to Norwalk 87.5-62.5.
Alex Perez won the shot put and discus, while Andrew DeCastro (discus), Dylan Lindeberg (javelin) and Alec Jobsen (javelin) also performed well in throwing events.
Joe Miro led Warde in the 100, 200 and long jump. Alex Lorenzo ran a strong 110 hurdles race, and had Wardes top performance in the triple jump. Gary Azarian also had an excellent triple jump.
Narender Arjoon paced Warde runners in the 300 intermediate hurdles, and Harry Warnick had solid outings in the 800 and 3,200.
Wardes 4x100 meter relay team of Azarian, Miro, Andrew Enri, and Drake Bist ran 47.1 seconds, just six-tenths of a second off an FCIAC qualifying time.
Warde (2-2) meets New Canaan and Wilton on April 24.
