FAIRFIELD, Conn. Fairfields mens and womens basketball teams will play key contests Friday in Coaches vs. Cancer games at Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport.
The womens team plays Manhattan at 4 p.m. The men tip off against Iona at 7 p.m.
In the womens game, Fairfield (14-5 overall, 7-1 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) brings a three-game winning streak into the game against the Jaspers. Fairfield has won 11 of its last 13 and is led by Taryn Johnson, who is averaging 13.2 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.
In the mens game, Iona (15-5 overall, 7-2 MAAC) and Fairfield (10-9, 5-3) meet for the first time this season. Fairfield has won two straight after losing three straight. The Stags are led by Rakin Sanders (15.9 points, 8.2 rebounds per game). More information is available on fairfieldstags.com.
