At the YMCA State championships, the Wahoos won the title for the 27th year in a row. The Wahoos also won the regional championship, and the 13-14-year-old boys won their division.
Many top performers in these meets included swimmers from Fairfield.
Swimming for the 12 and under group at the Age Group Competition, Robert Welch placed 9th in the 100-yard butterfly, 10th in the 200-yard butterfly and 18th in the 50-yard butterfly. At Y-States, Robert received 7th place in the 100-yard backstroke, 5th place in the 100-yard butterfly, 10th place in the 100-yard IM, 7th place in the 200-yard IM, 5th place in the 50-yard backstroke and 3rd place in the 50-yard butterfly.
At the Regional Championships, Olivia Spinosa competed in the 13-14 girls division. She placed third in the 200-yard breaststroke, sixth in the 500-yard freestyle, 200-yard backstroke and 100-yard breaststroke and tenth in the 100-yard backstroke and 200-yard individual medley. Leandra Grantham also competed.
In the 15-18 girls division, Sapir Shoshan won the 200-yard breaststroke, placed third in the 400-yard IM, fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke and tenth in the 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard IM.
Jes Bollman competed in the 15-18 boys group. He won the 200-yard breaststroke, finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke, fourth in the 200-yard IM, fifth in the 100-yard backstroke and eighth in the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle.
