Joining the team this year after playing soccer as a freshman, Thompson realized strong finishes in several key races, including his first place win in the SCC with a time of 15:44.
Thompson was also named 2015 Register Area Boys Cross Country Most Valuable Player and a Hearst Connecticut Media Boys Cross Country All-Star.
“He’s a real competitor,” Coach Bob Ford Jr. said. “I think every kid wants to win, but he is also willing to do the work. He has very good staying power.”
Along with his running talent, Thompson is an honor student, and has served as a volunteer host at Prep's annual Open House.
In addition, Thompson has volunteered with the Nichols Improvement Association, a non-profit organization chartered with preserving the heritage and character of the community in his hometown of Trumbull.
In his efforts with the NIA, Thompson has provided service at a number of events, including community races.
