Fairfield gymnast Alley Meyer won the vault and floor exercise competitions at the Level 7 state gymnastics competition earlier this month at St. Paul Catholic High School in Bristol.
Meyer, 15, scored 9.6 on the vault and 9.1 on the floor. She placed third on the uneven bars with an 8.65.
Alley competed against Level 7 gymnasts ages 15 and up from facilities throughout the state. Allie trains at the Gymnastics and Cheerleading Academy of Connecticut at the Sportsplex at Fairfield, where she has been training since it opened a year and a half ago. Her coaches are Melissa Zigmont, Amanda Goodman and Jenn Fuggi.
