FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Fairfield softball All-Stars captured their third banner of the summer on Sunday when they defeated Mystic, 6-2, to win the state softball championship. Earlier, Fairfield took home titles in District 2 and Section 1. They begin their quest for the East Regional title Friday against Vermont in Bristol.
Fairfield swept the best-of-3 state championship series vs. Mystic, 3-2 and 6-2. Fairfield's schedule in the East Regional is available online.
The Fairfield Little League softball all-stars include Erin Rosengren, Julia Wilson, Mary Rose Finnigan, Madison Burress, Eliza Elliott, Emma Houghton, Anna Rasmussen, Sarah Cotto, Alice Nelson, Gabby Natoli, Brittany Romero, coaches Doug Romero and Dave McCartney and manager Jerry Rasmussen.
