Fairfield Falls to Texas, Still Alive

They say everything is bigger in Texas. Fairfield American Little League found that out firsthand on Sunday night as Pearland, Tex., earned a 14-1 victory in four innings in the Little League World Series. The game ended early because of the10-run mercy rule. Fairfield gave up seven runs in the second inning to put the Connecticut and New England champions in a hole they could not recover from.

Despite the loss, Fairfield is still alive in the World Series, which is being played in Williamsport, Pa. Fairfield will now face Auburn, Wash., on Monday at 8 p.m. You can follow the game and interact with other fans on our live blog right here while you watch it on ESPN.
