Every FCIAC school’s team of hockey players has raised nearly $2,000 for #IceALS. Top fundraising amounts came from Wilton High School, which raised more than $14,000, followed by New Canaan High School at nearly $6,000, Trinity Catholic ($5,000), St. Joseph’s ($4,000) and Darien, Trumbull and Ridgefield high schools ($3,000 each).

With the season coming to a close, the teams are committed to reaching their fundraising goal of $100,000 for #IceALS during the upcoming playoff games. Teams will encourage fans to donate at the games or online

The FCIAC #IceALS campaign is in honor of people with ALS and their families everywhere, including Eric Craven, father of Wilton captains Amanda and Elizabeth, and in memory of former Trinity Catholic ice hockey player Drew Schemera. All proceeds will benefit ALS.net, which directly supports the ALS Therapy Development Institute, the world’s first and largest nonprofit biotech focused 100 percent on ALS research.
