Fairfield softball player Gabby Natoli is writing a diary of her experiences for TheDailyFairfield.com as her team plays in the East Regional of the Little League softball tournament. The team begins play Friday in Bristol This is her first diary entry.
Hey guys, Gabby and the Fairfield 12-year-old girls softball state champs here. We arrived in Bristol at about 12:15 Thursday. We had to wait a while before getting into the dorm, but it was well worth the wait.
As soon as we entered the dorm, all the girls were calling beds, basically causing mayhem. After we finally settled down and had gotten everything sorted out, we headed down to the field to take a main picture. It was so hot! After that we went up to take individual photos. While we were there, we met the team going before us, from Wyoma, Mass. We all became friends quickly.
After that we went to an all-team meeting. They talked to us about rules and such. Before we left they told us to have fun! No brainer!
When we got back to our air-conditioned room we invited the Massachusetts team to our dorm to hang out and play Apples to Apples with us. We made a lot of close friends and had a bunch of fun. After that we played Wii baseball and watched "Never say Never" with Massachusetts.
After that we went to an old-fashioned barbecue. We ate some really good food, including burgers, hot dogs, chicken, salad, all kinds of pasta, watermelon and cookies. After eating, we went to the recreational center to play fusbol. Everyone got into it, picking teams and cheering everyone on. Now we are hanging out in the dorm, preparing to go to ESPN tomorrow! Thanks for reading!
