FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Fairfield American bats were as hot as the weather at Blackham School in Bridgeport on Tuesday. American crushed town rival Fairfield National in the District 2 Little League winners bracket final, 11-3. American moves on to the District 2 finals at noon on Saturday.
After tying the game twice in Monday's come-from-behind victory, Fairfield American's Brendan Flynn was at it again Tuesday. He launched a three-run home run as American staked out a 6-0 lead and never looked back. Fairfield American improves to 7-0 in the district tournament.
National, meanwhile, meets Westport in the losers bracket final at 5:30 p.m. Friday. Westport downed Trumbull American, 10-3.
