UConn To Consider Stripping Cosby Of Honorary Degree

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- The list of businesses and institutions that want to distance themselves from Bill Cosby continues to grow as the University of Connecticut's Board of Trustees is expected to revoke Cosby's honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts degree later this week, according to the Connecticut Post.

Cosby received the degree in 1996 when he was commencement speaker. If the board revokes his degree, it will be the first time the school has done so. In March, the undergraduate student government asked school officials to revoke the entertainer's degree, said the Connecticut Post.

Cosby, 78, is accused of sexual misconduct or assaulting at least 50 women. The UConn Trustees will make the decision during their meeting on Wednesday on the Storrs campus, added the Connecticut Post.
