Fairfield Man Takes Over at Stamford School

STAMFORD, Conn. – When students returned to Grace Christian School in Stamford recently they were greeted by new headmaster Chris DeSanctis at the helm.

“I’m elated to serve at Grace Christian School to continue the strong tradition of providing children with an education that is both Christ-centered and academically rigorous,” DeSanctis said in a school press release.

Prior to coming to Grace Christian School, DeSanctis was the director of development at the Christian Heritage School in Trumbull. He is also an adjunct professor in the Department of Government and Politics at Sacred Heart University  and teaches in the Social and Behavioral Sciences Department at Norwalk Community College.

He also served as a policy and communications aide to the mayor of Jersey City in the late 1990s. DeSanctis was appointed by former Gov. M. Jodi Rell to the Metro-North New Haven Rail Council in 2006 and to the Connecticut Statewide Property Tax Cap Commission by State Rep. Lawrence Cafero.

DeSanctis was honored with a Teaching and Service Award at Sacred Heart, and has published in American Thinker, the Hartford Courant and the Connecticut Post. He has also appeared as a commentor on WTNH News 8 and WDRC Radio, the release said.

DeSanctis holds a master’s degree in public policy from Regent University and a bachelor of science degree in education. DeSanctis also holds a Connecticut state teacher’s certificate and has taught at the elementary, middle and high school levels.

DeSanctis currently lives in Fairfield with his wife Doreen, a speech-language pathologist, and their three children. A native of Connecticut, he grew up in Trumbull.
