The university is rolling out a 50 percent reduction for those who enroll in a master's in criminal justice program.
Previously, the offer was limited to the Fairfield Police Department, said the announcement.
“We are excited to extend this benefit, which we hope will provide an incentive for more officers serving in the larger community to pursue their next level of education,” said SHU President John J. Petillo.
“As a retired police officer, I've always been an advocate for the continuing education of our criminal justice professionals. Their jobs have become increasingly challenging, and we welcome the opportunity to help them develop the skills to meet those challenges," Patrick Morris, said the master's program director.
Morris spent 26 years in the Norwalk Police Department. He joined the Sacred Heart faculty in 2005.
Students may take the classes in the evening and online.
