FAIRFIELD, Conn. — The Fairfield Museum and History Center announced a new partnership with Bankwell to support the museum’s field trips program.
The museum’s exhibitions, walking tours, workshops, and outreach programs offer students and teachers interactive activities that complement curriculum standards.
The aim is to help students make local connections with national and global themes, so all students — especially those from underserved communities — can gain an interest and relationship with history.
“The company's partnership enables the museum to provide extraordinary learning opportunities to hundreds of students from underserved schools in Norwalk and Bridgeport free-of-charge," Fairfield Museum Executive Director Mike Jehle said.
The partnership with Bankwell allows the museum to improve outreach and reduce or waive fees for schools in need.
For other residents interested in exploring the museum, located at 370 Beach Road, in Fairfield, admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students and seniors.
It's open seven days a week, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with members of the museum and children under 5 receiving free admission.
