Charles Meyrick, an assistant professor of business and economics at Housatonic Community College in Bridgeport, shouted and became agitated before eventually holding up his arm in a Nazi salute for five to 10 minutes, several faculty members in attendance at the meeting on Friday, Nov. 2 told the Courant.

Meyrick stopped doing the salute after campus police were called, the report said.

Connecticut State Colleges and Universities President Mark Ojakian called reports of Meyrick's outburst and use of the Nazi salute "appalling and unacceptable" in a statement.
