Students from middle schools and high schools across Fairfield County will vie for prizes in the Fairfield Regional History Day Contest.
The public is invited to attend the event and review exhibits, performances, papers, documentaries, and websites from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Once the judges make their selections, there will be an awards ceremony at 2:45 p.m. They will be given by State Rep. Laura Devlin.
Students, who have spent months developing their projects, based their entries on this year’s National History Day theme, Taking a Stand in History. Participants work alone or in groups.
The winners will be announced here March 20.
The top three projects from each category will go to the State History Day Contest at Central Connecticut State University on Saturday, April 29, where they will compete against winners from the state’s five other regional contests.
SHU is located at 5151 Park Ave., Fairfield.
