“An Uneasy Peace: Northern Ireland’s Search for Resolution” is set for 2:30 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, at the Art & Design Gallery at the Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts at Sacred Heart University, 5151 Park Ave., Fairfield.
Richard Falco, president of Vision Project and coordinator of multimedia journalism at SHU, will moderate the forum.
"The discussion will touch upon two communities in Northern Ireland with a clear mistrust, working together to achieve a lasting peace," a press release said. "Poetry and narratives of the region will showcase both perspectives of the sectarian divide. A short film, The New Troubles, will also be shown."
The forum will include Rick Magee, an associate professor of English; Marie Hulme, an instructor of English at SHU; Kate O’Gara, an adjunct at Sacred Heart in the Political Science Department; Kevin Cassidy, a professor of politics at Fairfield University; and Falco, a photographer, filmmaker and educator.
The program is sponsored by the Vision Project, English Department, History Department, the master’s in communications program and the Department of Communication and Media Studies.
The event is free and open to the public.
