Fairfield's Sacred Heart Celebrates Polish Revolutionary War Hero

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Fairfield's Sacred Heart University is presenting a lecture on "Tadeusz Kosciuszko and the Black American Revolution."

The talk will be held Thursday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. in the  Schine Auditorium, located on the campus at  5151 Park Ave., Fairfield.

Graham Russell Gao Hodges, the George Dorland Langdon Jr. Professor of History and Africana & Latin American Studies at Colgate University, will speak and take questions.

Kosciuszko is a Polish national hero who greatly admired Thomas Jefferson and his ideas for our Constitution. He led American troops in fighting the British during the Revolutionary War.

The event is free and open to the public. A reception follows the lecture.
