FAIRFIELD, Conn. If you've ever wanted to learn more about literature, the arts or any other area of study, but already are past your college days, Fairfield University has a program that can help.
Fairfield Universitys Learning for a Lifetime program allows local residents to audit one or two courses each year, without the accompanying exams or credit. Enrollees in the program also can attend symposia each semester featuring special lectures by Fairfield professors.
The courses available for audit this year include: Modernism in World Literature: Cities of Modernism, Harlem Renaissance, Visual Culture Since 1400 and James Joyce. The full course catalog is available here.
Auditing classes is available only where space allows. One course costs $240 to audit, and two courses cost $445. The fee also covers a university ID, parking, library access and discounted access to the schools Quick Center for the Arts and its Recreational Complex.
You can learn more about the program at an open house from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Aloysius P. Kelley, S.J. Center on the Fairfield University campus, 1073 N. Benson Road.
