FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield Public Schools will reopen Wednesday after a seven-day break because of Hurricane Sandy.
The district’s administration made the decision after taking a tour of the town to see the condition of Fairfield’s roads. All Fairfield schools, including its private and Catholic schools, are now back in session after the storm.
All school buses will run Wednesday, but some routes might be altered because of blocked roads. Administrators advise parents to be careful to avoid downed power lines on walks and drives to school.
“Our Public Works Department and the local utility companies have done a terrific job of clearing roads and sidewalks; however, we ask that parents and students exercise caution when walking to and from bus stops or to school, as there may be debris in your path,” the Fairfield Public Schools website reads.
