“We have another outstanding group of young men that we are honoring this year,” said Bill O’Brien, the chapter’s president. “All they have achieved on the field and in the classroom should make their family, school and community very proud.”
Moore, a member of Prep’s National Honor Society and peer tutor, is a recipient of the Cornell Book Award.
On the football field, Moore, who started at both quarterback and strong safety for Prep, was recognized as Most Improved Player.
He has also been a two-year member of Prep’s indoor and outdoor track programs.
Keith Hellstern, the school's varsity football coach, said Moore “always sets the right example in consistently pushing himself and supporting his teammates.”
In addition to his athletic activities, Moore is a volunteer at Operation Hope and the Kennedy Center, as well as a participant in Prep’s Urban Immersion and Ecuador Immersion service experience.
He is also involved in Prep’s Business Club and Symphonic Orchestra.
Moore is planning on playing football in college, but has not made a final school choice.
