The magazine released its annual state-by-state rankings of public high schools this week. Fairfield Ludlowe High School ranked No. 11 out of the state’s 196 schools. Fairfield Warde High School came in at No. 20.
U.S. News also assigns Gold, Silver and Bronze designations to top-performing schools in each state. Fairfield Ludlowe was one of 11 Connecticut schools to earn a gold medal. Fairfield Warde was named a silver-medal school.
The magazine determined its rankings based on a combination of student-to-teacher ratio, percentage of students passing AP exams and standardized test scores in reading and math. Both Fairfield schools ranked well above the state average on test results and near the average in class size.
