Fairfield Ludlowe, Warde High Schools Rank Among Connecticut's Best

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Fairfield Ludlowe and Fairfield Warde High Schools have been ranked among the best in Connecticut by U.S. News & World Report in rankings released Tuesday morning.

Ludlowe was the ninth-highest ranked high school in all of Fairfield County, and came in as the 24th-best in the state.

Its student population of 1,552 exceeded the state average in all of the surveys major metrics, which included: College readiness, mathematics proficiency and English proficiency. The school also boasts an Advanced Placement participation rate of 47 percent.

Fairfield Warde was ranked 30th in the state and 10th in Fairfield County. It also exceeded the state average in all three metrics.

Several other high schools in Fairfield County were ranked in the Top 50 in the state, including:

Staples (No. 7)
Darien (No. 8)
Wilton (No. 9)
Ridgefield (No. 11)
Joel Barlow (No. 13)
Greenwich (No. 14)
New Canaan (No. 15)
Fairfield Ludlowe (No. 24)
Fairfield Warde (No. 30)
Westhill (No. 32)
Brien McMahon (No. 41)
Academy of Information Technology & Engineering (No. 43)

Honors for the top ranked high school in the Nutmeg State went to the Connecticut International Baccalaureate Academy in East Hartford.
