“It’s not just the typical fair. We try to make it very much hometown, with the bake sale and the face painting,” said Gina Luczaj, Parent Teacher Association president for Dwight.
Of course, the fair includes rides from Rainbow Amusements and food. But it isn’t just traditional fair food of hot dogs and hamburgers but also goodies provided by Christies Country Store. Luczaj said the owner is the father of a Dwight alumni.
“The fair is one of the two biggest fundraisers that we hold,” Luczaj said. “It helps us run our budget for the entire school year.”
To raise money during the fair, they hold a bake sale. The ticket sales also go toward funding projects that the Dwight PTA participates in each year.
This year, ride tickets are $1 each. A wristband for $25 will get you on to all the rides from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28.
The fair will take place from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28.
