Business Site Ranks Fairfield's Sacred Heart University 26th In Nation

FAIRFIELD, CONN. -- Top Management Degrees, a website dedicated to business education, has ranked a Sacred Heart University doctoral program in the top 30 on a list of 50 schools.

“This is excellent news for Sacred Heart,” said John Chalykoff, dean of the Jack Welch College of Business. “Staff works incredibly hard to prepare students for a career in business management. The courses are rigorous and enlightening.”

The university’s business management program was ranked 26th based on factors such as accreditation, prestige, estimated cost, student satisfaction, and curriculum.

According to Top Management Degrees, “criterion was given equal weight to gather a well-respected and highly doctoral business management program.”

Data was gathered from each school’s website, as well as U.S. News and World Report, the Princeton Review, and the National Center for Education Statistics.

The listing is created to help students find the highest quality doctorate degree in business management.

According to Lucjan Orlowski, director of the university’s Doctorate of Business Administration program, a professional executive doctoral degree is the highest step professionals can reach to gain an educational competitive advantage.

The university's program, Orlowski said, focuses on developing knowledge with direct global business applications and prepares graduates for executive careers in business and financial institutions, consulting firms, government agencies or academic careers.

“This ranking, being in the top 30 on a list of 50, means that our accredited program continues to meet its mission and vision,” he said.

DBA candidates prepare for a highly specialized careers in a number of fields, Orlowski said. They also gain global perspectives on issues related to financial markets and learn to appreciate the high ethical standards and values of finance professionals.

Students also “demonstrate the creation of new knowledge through original research and acquire advance knowledge in finance,” he said.

Sacred Hear, the second-largest independent Catholic university in New England, offers programs on its main campus in Fairfield, Conn., and satellites in Connecticut, Luxembourg, and Ireland.

It was included in The Princeton Review's 2015 best colleges guide "Best in the Northeast."
