'Beauty and the Beast' Comes to Fairfield Ludlowe

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Sara Wiant and Steve Autore take the stage this weekend in Fairfield Ludlowe High School’s adaptation of “Beauty and the Beast.”

Wiant plays Belle, a girl from a small French town who is being wooed by Gaston, played by Will Powers. She is taken captive by Autore's Young Prince, who has been transformed into a beast by an evil spell. The prince's house staff has also been transformed, including Lumiere (played by James Purcell), Mrs. Potts (Heather Hayes) and Cogsworth (Cassie Carrol.)

Other featured players include Greydon Walker as Maurice, Marianna Braganca as Babette, Kaitlyn Carruthers as Madame de la Grande Bouche, Matt Grant as Lefou, Angel Bauro  as Monsieur D’Arque, Lilly Boyd as Chip, Miriam Goldfield, Tricia Sorresso and Gillian Christian as the Three Silly Girls, Amanda Connor as the Enchantress, Kevin Cassidy as the Young Prince, Gillian Christian, Brigitte Dale, Madeleine Tommins and Melissa Purdy as the Wolves and Amir Naeem as the Prologue Narrator.

Behind the scenes are Artistic Director Frances R. Kondziela, Musical Director Kevin Cotellese, Set Director Roger Mudre and Choreographer Simone DePaolo, with costumes by Sonia Otharsson.

The students will put on three shows: Friday, April 27, at 8 p.m. and Saturday, April 28, at 2 and 8 p.m. Tickets are $8, and are available at the door or in advance by emailing fkondziela@fairfieldschools.org or calling 203-255-7201.
