More Than 28 Percent Of Fairfield's Voters Went To The Polls

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Turnout decreased slightly from the 2011 municipal elections in Fairfield, but more than 10,000 residents, or nearly 28 percent of those registered, still went out to vote, according to official numbers from the town.

Republicans Mary LeClerc and David M. Becker took the seats for the Board of Finance. Democrat Catherine Albin won the seat for a four-year vacancy on the finance board, and James Walsh won a two-year vacancy seat.

Republicans John Llewellyn and Eileen Liu-McCormack will join the Board of Education with Democrats Marc Patten and Kenneth Lee.

Republicans David L. Thornton and Paulette Cuozzo and Democrat Kathryn Gussen will join the Board of Assessment Appeals on four-year terms, with Helene Daly filling a two-year vacancy. 

On the Town Planning and Zoning Commission, Republican incumbents Gerry Alessi and Seth Baratz and Democrat incumbent Jim Kennelly won four-year terms. Republicans Joan Neiley was elected to a two-year term, and Anthony was elected to fill a two-year vacancy. Republicans Jacinta Coleman and Meg Francis were voted as alternates to the board with Democrat Mark Corcoran.

Incumbent Republican James Baldwin was elected to a four-year term on the Zoning Board of Appeals, and Republican Kevin Coyne was elected for a two-year term. Republicans Terrence Keegan and Faith Dillon won alternate seats on the board with Democrat Daphne Dixon.

Republicans Mark Dunlevy, John Jones, Joseph Peddle Jr. and Francis Rowe were joined by Democrats Ruth A. Smey, Charlene Lebo and Eugene Short in winning the vote for constables over Democrat Edward Cheffetz. 

In most Representative Town Meeting districts, voters went either fully Republican or fully Democrat. Here are the results by district:
