In particular, the board is seeking residents with experience as architects, project managers and those in construction-related professions, as well as anyone with an interest in helping to assure the best outcome of the project for the town.
This past August, the town held a Penfield Pavilion meeting to seek input from the public. Town officials and design consultants made a presentation at this public meeting on alternatives being considered for the repair of Penfield Pavilion.
The presentation can be seen in two parts, with part one here and part two here.
The board is looking to put together a balanced team with relevant professional experience, "who can assure the greatest value added to any potential project undertaken by the town," according to a release.
Building committee members are recommended by the first selectman and then appear before both the Board of Selectmen and the Representative Town Meeting for approval.
Members of a building committee can expect to serve through the close out of the project.
Residents interested in serving should send resumes to the First Selectman’s Office via email or via mail to 725 Old Post Road, Fairfield, CT 06824.
Questions about the recommendation and approval process as well as the proposed building committee itself can be directed to the First Selectman’s Office at 203-256-3030.
