The lottery is only for offices that have more than one candidate, such as the Representative Town Meeting, where people vote for more than one representative in each district.
“We do it by random chance, so we’ll be picking out names out of a glass jar,” said Republican Registrar Roger Autuori. “It doesn’t matter where their placement is on the ballot.”
The lottery will take place in the registrar’s office at Town Hall on Monday, Sept. 16, at noon, and might only a a half-hour, Autuori said.
