Woman Killed After Being Thrown From SUV In Merritt Parkway Crash

It happened southbound near Exit 50 in South Trumbull at around 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, state police said.

Pamela Maestri-Howes, 59, of Easton, was ejected from the Ford Explorer she was driving after it collided with a Mercedes-Benz E3504m. After the collision, the Explorer struck a guard rail, then crossed the right and left lanes before rolling over.

The Explorer then struck the guard rail in the right shoulder, crossed the right and left lanes and rolled over.

Maestri-Howes was rushed to St. Vincent's Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Mercedes, a 26-year-old Trumbull man, complained of minor injuries, but refused medical treatment at the scene, state police said.
