Shortly after 7 p.m., a police officer heard a car horn blowing at the corner of Post and South Pine Creek roads. The woman in the car had rear-ended the car in front of hers on South Pine Creek and was yelling obscenities at the driver, telling him to get out of her way, police said.
She shouted at the officer, who had asked her to calm down, then rammed her car into the victim’s again, pushing it a few feet into the Post Road, police said. She then backed up and turned west on the Post Road, police said.
The town received several 911 calls about a woman driving erratically before she rear-ended a second car near Pease Avenue, police said.
Officers were able to catch up to her on Greens Farms Road in Westport, police said.
The woman told officers she took medication for anxiety and depression and that “two crazy people” had struck her car and she intended to strike more cars because traffic was “crazy,” police said.
She was sent to Norwalk Hospital for evaluation, police said.
