According to police, the 34-year-old woman failed to put her car in park and engage her parking brake before installing a car seat in a driveway on Rosemere Avenue in Fairfield.

When the car began to roll, she attempted to stop it, police said. In the process, she was knocked to the ground, police said. Her left leg was caught, and the car ran over it, police said. The car continued rolling into a neighboring lawn, police said.

The woman was taken to St. Vincent’s hospital for treatment of the broken leg and minor scrapes and bruises.

Officers issued a verbal warning for failure to use the parking brake.
