Woman Charged With Shoplifting Boots From Kohl's In Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield officers were called to the Kohl's department store on Tunxis Hill Road on Friday morning after a woman attempted to take a pair of boots without paying, police said.

According to the police report, Michelle Gurner, 38, of Fairfield, concealed a pair of Tote boots, valued at $99, under the carriage of her shopping cart.

She was with her son, who was in a child seat in the cart, and paid for a small amount of children’s toys while attempting to hide the shoebox from the cashier, police said.

Police charged Gurner with sixth-degree larceny and released her with a promise to appear in court Nov. 12.
