The family of a 90-year-old Fairfield resident reported suspicious bank activity to the Fairfield  police in April 2008. They told investigators they believed the suspect was Vanessa Taylor of Bridgeport, formerly a health care worker caring for the victim, police say.

Fairfield police and People’s United Bank' fraud investigators found Taylor had used her own identification to cash seven checks totaling approximately $2,100 during a three-month period, according to police reports. Taylor turned herself in at Fairfield police headquarters Thursday, police say.

Taylor was charged with second-degree larceny and second-degree forgery, both felonies. She was released after posting a $3,500 bond, and is due in court Dec. 7.
