Jonathan Acuna, 23, of Stamford, left the store with over $600 worth of copper wire, putting the three spools into a car waiting outside, according to the police report. Store security stopped Acuna and held him in an office until officers arrived, police said.
In the car was 31-year-old Gary Cappiello of Norwalk, who was also detained by store security.
When officers arrived, they took both Acuna and Cappiello into custody, police said.
Each was charged with conspiracy to commit fifth-degree larceny. Acnua was also charged with fifth-degree larceny.
Each was released on a promise to appear and given a court date of June 17.
