And she wasn’t alone: A second woman parked in the lot returned to find her passenger window smashed and her purse gone, police said.

The first victim parked her car in the Pequot Avenue lot near the Pequot Library around 7:45 a.m., police said. When she returned five hours later, the rear hatchback to her Toyota Highlander was missing, along with a pink yoga mat and her license plate, police said.

Someone also rummaged through her center console and glove compartment, but she said nothing else was missing, police said.

The second woman parked in the same lot at about 8 a.m. and came back shortly after 1 p.m. to find the window smashed and her Vera Bradley bag containing her driver’s license, Social Security card and bank and credit cards missing, police said.

The purse was found at 8 p.m. Saturday on the side of the road on Lacey Place but not all of the missing cards were retrieved, police said.
