Thieves Nab $1,000 In Bling From Bag Left At Fairfield Metro

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A woman who realized she left her purse at the Fairfield Metro train station managed to get it back — minus more than $1,000 in accessories inside, police said.

The woman called police around 4:30 p.m. Saturday to report she had left her bag on a bench on the New York-bound side of the station and she was on her way back to look for it.

Officers found the bag, but her wallet, credit cards, ID, a pair of $450 gold hoop earrings and a $600 Movado watch were all missing, police said.
